Personalized Vision and Eye Health Examinations for ADULTS

  • The American Optometric Association recommends yearly exams for adults, not only to detect vision changes but to maintain eye health.  Even small changes in vision can result in decreased performance at work and home.  Todays adults in our technological society have greater visual demands the ever before.  Excessive computer and near work, both at home and in the workplace, can induce eyestrain, fatiguue, headches and dry eye.  This condition, known as Computer Vision Syndrome, can be effectively treated with corrective lenses, eye drops and/or vision therapy.  In order to maintain eye health, we test and treat eye conditions such as Dry Eye, Cataract, Glaucoma and Age Related Macular Degeneration.
  • We utilize State-of-the-Art technology to examine your retinal health, such as the OptoMap Retinal Scan, which, in many cases, eliminates the need to dilate the pupils. The OptoMap allows us to take a digital image which we then use to monitor any changes in your retinal health from year to year

      These visual skills include:

  • Visual Acuity at Near- The ability to see clearly up close is critical to reading, writing, and computer use.
  • Eye Focusing Skills- The ability to maintain clear vision up close for prolonged periods and to change focus quickly from distance to near, such as from the board to desk.
  • Eye Teaming Skills- The ability to use the eyes together as a team to prevent such conditions as Convergence Insufficiency and poor Depth Perception.
  • Eye Movement Skills- The ability to move the eyes to follow a moving target such as in sports and there ability to move the eyes quickly and accurately across a line of print during reading and from book to desk to board in the classroom.
  • Visual Perceptual/Processing Skills and Fine Motor Skills- We offer specialized testing to assess the ability of the brain to interpret what it sees and the ability to integrate the use of the eyes and hands together.

*Difficulty in any of the above areas can result in Learning-Related Visual  Problems. Treatment for such Learning-Related Visual Problems can be treated through the use of Computerized Home Vision Therapy programs or  In-office Vision Therapy.

Be alert for the following Signs and Symptoms that may indicate problems in any of the visual areas already listed above:
